Late Bloomer

Church rummage sale yesterday! I found a National Geographic from 1965 or so, and I remembered it! I grew up looking at all the pictures and reading the captions (and maybe some of the articles) in Nat'l Geographic. I knew them frontwards and backwards, and all the pictures.

You'd think I'd have figured something out, way back then. As I flipped through this particular edition, I remembered all the pictures of the men. Men with their shirts off, men with beards, men in uniforms. I remembered them.

But I did not understand. even though is has been SOOO long, I am so glad I understand now!

Friday, I traveled to a big city in a neighboring state to meet a friend. We had a great time walking around town, through a park, having lunch and supper together. We talked and talked and had such a great time! I realized how I can sometimes be a little giddy when I'm with a man, feeling a bit like a teenager. After all these years, when I am with another gay man, it feels so comfortable and so natural, I am taken aback. Now I've finally figured it out! Now I understand! I am so glad I did.

All those years of Nat'l Geographics, and the other boys would looking for the native women with breasts hanging freely. I wash looking for the men with beards, with penises in view, with their shirts off, with furry chests. Finally, I figured it out!

Glad to hear that you had a great time Friday with your friend. It's nice to hear about you getting giddy and enjoying yourself. Have a fantabulous week!

Geographic was my first pseudo-porn.

A couple of years ago I was looking at an issue in a doctor's office waiting room, and there was an article basically about hairy Arab men. I almost orgasmed on the spot. My kind of hairy, and achingly beautiful to boot. Um, so I guess it's still psuedo-porn, huh? :-)

Father forgive me, for I, too have read Nat'l Geo! Feb 1951 issue was a favorite. Friends had given us a bunch (we were not members) when I was a kid. I do not know what happened to them. Years later I bought the issue at a used book store for a completely unrelated reason and discovered that this was *my* issue! Like you, I did not understand then (as a kid) what this all meant - why I stared at the men when all(?) my friends stared at the women.

And like you I am discovering how comfortable I feel around other gay men. This past weekend was an example for me.

Maybe it was the phase of the moon. ;)

But OF COURSE I was looking at the naked breated women...Who happened to be standing next to the muscular, naked, well-hung, hunter guys. No! I was not looking at the magazine to see the guys, they just happened to be there. I can't help it if my eyes...wandered.

Bingo! Ah yes the good old N.G magazines and the Sears catalogues! ;)

Oh and I 'knew' what I was looking for!

Oh yes...the magazines. I was never much of a NatGeo guy, but I can tell you I enjoyed all those men's exercise magazines.

From one late bloomer to another...peace.

and they say we actually make a "choice" to be gay or it was abuse...HAH...seen plenty of naked women in national geographic etc. even found a bunch of porn magazines, didn't do anything for me! But those husky guys in the catelogs got me all flustered and dazed just looking at their big burly hairy muscle bods...and I was only a kid! (How old were we like 8-10?) MUST be genetic.
