Life is too short not to dance.

As I've said before, I live in the most amazing small city. After a visit to Atlanta PRIDE and being in a Really Big City, I am more and more impressed with what we've got going on here.

Every Friday evening, the Drum Circle forms in a small downtown park. I don't know that there is any particular organization or leadership, though there may be. All I know is it just seems to happen. It goes own for hours. All kinds of percussion, and then the dancing begins. I love to go and just move to the beat.

I make no promises about "knowing" how to dance. I don't really care. I just do it. Often I tell my children, "Life is too short not to dance."

"I danced on the Sabbath and I cured the lame,
The holy people said it was a shame...
I danced on a Friday when the sky turned black.
It's hard to dance with the devil on your back...
...but I am the dance and I still go on.
...Dance then wherever you may be..."

Be forewarned, however, to borrow a phrase from my cyber-friend Ur-Spo (that I seem to be using more lately), such groups "may lead to social dancing".

LOL!

Dance, my friend, dance!

Hello Joe. Its your friend from Virginia. I have started a blog myself, its very interesting.

As a Baptist dance has always been frowned upon. so is being gay LOL Guess what, I have recently started "moving" with the music at that place I go to on Friday nights. I love it! It was for freedom sake Christ has set us free! Jesus Christ is the Lord of the dance!
Keep dancing!

Fun! We've got a regular drum/dance circle, too - just went for the first time yesterday and had a blast. Dance, y'all!

Are drum circles a phenomenon around the country?
