It's the second novel by Ford I've read, the first being Looking For It. Also an excellent read.
Since I don't have cable (and antennae don't work in these here hills), I do a lot of reading. Now, I finally got a television with a larger-than-a-dish-rag screen, so I can really see videos. Tonight I'm going to delve into Henry VIII and The Tudors.
I might have to join NetFlix or something. But I'll keep my library card in shape, too.
Cheers for now.

You are probably far better reading than watching tv or surfing. I need to make more time for reading again.
I found Netflix a good source of gay-themed movies. Nothing inappropriate, of course. A word to the wise, if you do go this route: Pay attention to their rating system. When a gay movie gets a star and a half or two stars, that definitely means you have better things to do with your time.
For other things, our little local library (where I volunteer) is quite good. Because we are part of a regional association, we can get videos from libraries all over the southern part of the state, which includes Madison. Makes for lots of choices for free!
Fits my budget!
Also, Michael Thomas Ford has some funny collections of essays you might enjoy: Alec Baldwin Doesn't Love Me, It's Not Mean If It's True, and That's Mr. Faggot to You among them.
Mr. Ford lives a neighborhood away from me. I met him for lunch once. Nice guy.
we have been loving the tudors and the netflix they came from (just signed up not long ago). my sister's family doesn't have cable or anything else like you and use netflix as the only source of tv watching. they love it.
I enjoy reading Ford's books. I have the one you mentioned to read in the near future. I have read his "Full Circle" book and enjoyed it.
While you're checking out Netflix, which I love, look at some of the old BBC Masterpiece Theatre favourites such as "The Duchess of Duke Street" and "Upstairs Downstairs"......so much fun.
Sounds interesting, if I happen uppon one of his books I will pick one up.
All the best in the new year Joe!
Reading...ah a winter night, a warm fire, comfortable chair, hot cocoa, and a good book. Nothing like it!
I highly recomend Netflix. I can find almost any movie or tv program I want. I enjoy the british mysteries and programs as well as gay themed movies.
Hey, I'm generally a fan of Ford--- LOVED Looking for It, and the other one that was sort of after it.
But this one?? Not so much. I thought it was ok... but that's it.
